As a Mexican-American, who originally worked in the fields, Angel believes
that working the soil served as his inspiration for working with clay. He attended
Whitworth College and East Washington College before completing his degree at the University of Idaho.
Angel
makes his own brushes, to use on the blank canvases of his pottery, then fires his stoneware and pottery in the "high
fire" range. Although Angel's work is influenced by the traditions of Mexico and Japan, he also works in the
American Raki style.
